DANSEN OP DE VULKAAN

As Kyiv is drawn into its fourth year of war and Western attention fades, three young men search for ways to give space to their grief, their fear, and their creativity. In the underground racing scene, they find a place to breathe and release.

Three young men — Vova (23), Vlad (23), and Andriy (25) — move between expectations of masculinity and their need for self-expression. In the lead-up to the next Resonance rave, their paths intersect. Dancing on the Volcano explores how the rave scene functions for them as a site of release and community: a way of coping with an uncertain future, in which fighting at the front, fleeing, or perhaps even peace are all possible outcomes.
