How does the Dutch asylum system deal with you when you are queer? Trans and non-binary immigrants try to shed light on their experiences in the Netherlands. In this way, they can – if only for a moment – reappropriate their identity.

In this creative documentary debut, trans and non-binary immigrants, together with a queer film team, explore what the Dutch asylum system does to you by writing, reconstructing and filming. The question that is central to the IND process is: Who are you? But how do you respond to that when identity is not fixed, but is fluid, personal and constantly moving? When it is precisely that difficult to define identity that determines whether you are admitted or rejected? Between fiction, documentary and the making process, a collective portrait is created about queer migration, prejudice, security and the struggle to define yourself.
