Pien van Grinsven makes films, mostly about things you can’t see like an absent father or hormones. She graduated from the international documentary master Doc Nomads with the short film doei, which screened in festivals worldwide and is now a part of the Cinetree short film platform. Her second film Hormonal was broadcast by BNN/Vara, premiered at Sheffield Docfest and NFF, and is now featured on the Short of the Week online platform. Apart from directing, she also works with the process of filmmaking as a tool for both co-creation and education.
As a freelance filmmaker, she has worked with organisations like Unesco and Client Earth. She is currently also developing the short film Crip Time together with co-director Lisa Groot Haar, in collaboration with So-We and the Dutch broadcaster VPRO.
