Jim Brink (1997) is a visual anthropologist and filmmaker based in the Netherlands. He graduated in 2023 with a Master’s in Visual Anthropology from the University of Amsterdam, where he made an ethnographic film exploring the relationship between Georgia, Europe and Russia. With a background in journalism, Jim’s practice evolved from news reporting into documentary filmmaking while working for NH Nieuws, AT5 and Brandpunt+. He works intuitively and poetically, with a consistent focus on socially and politically relevant subjects. His latest film. In De Wacht, is a short documentary examining the suffocating structures of the Dutch asylum system. Alongside documentary, he also directs music videos that have received international recognition.
